Dr. Karim Alwadi

Dr. Karim Alwadi is an Arab entrepreneur and author who has been based in Beijing since 2001 where he founded several companies spanning various sectors from machinery manufacturing to infrastructure investment to the Merchant Banking industry.

Karim founded Beltway Group in 2016, since then Belway Group has successfully deployed and executed over 3.6 USD Billion in projects in the MENA region. Beltway is also working closely withthe Arab sovereign funds supporting their investments deployment in China’s most lucrative companies and assets.

He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in International Relations, focusing on Sino-Arab Relations, from China Renmin University and obtained his Ph.D. in International Politics from China Foreign Affairs University. He is an active member of the Chinese Business and Academic Society.

Karim is currently a Board Member of the China-Arab State Expo, a state level appointment, and a board member of Duke University China. He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Global Governance and Development at Renmin University of China and a visiting Professor at Several of China’s top Universities.

Karim is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leaders Program and a YPO member. He has authored several publications including a book entitled ChinaPhobia – A Wasted Opportunity by Penguin Publishing Group.
